A very fitting tribute from The Divine Ms D:

"Pinky Chan rocked. I never actually spoke to her in person because she scared the living shit out of me. But I wanted to. To me she was one of that rare breed of merciless alpha females, like Cleopatra, Dolly Parton or one of those praying mantises that bites off the male’s head.

"She spoke to me once. They were her first and last words to me. “Hey you. What are you smiling at?” she said, glaring suspiciously over a glass of wine outside the Spicy Island.

"What a fantastic woman."

I'm still looking for more tributes and memories of Pinky's life, in English or Chinese.

I've got quite a few good ones already, but need a few more from people who knew her now or in the last millennium in her former incarnations as "FCC regular", "Regional PR/advertising sales manager", "Married in Singapore", "Hippy Chick", :Crazy Landlady", "Banyan Cafe owner" and many more...

Hey there WAS a wake for Pinky on Saturday night. There were ten or twelve of us at the bar, all basking in the Pinky Spirit and drinkin'.

Course it was the same crowd who's always there so maybe a lotta people didn't notice us. :wild:

What about a little tribute from YOU for Pinky?
A few good special memories and photos;no rumours, gossip or negative stuff, please.
Let's celebrate the positive aspects of Pinky's colourful life and times!

It's amazing how many great stories are coming in, so many people loved or at least liked her a lot...

But it seems extremely diffcult to find any old photos of Pinky. What happened to those pictures showing a young, pretty lady?

I rememember a time when Pinky used to "bang" just about every fucking guy on Lamma. She was young, sweet and fun.

When Pinky was a sweet young thing, she had a cute but noticeable mole on her cheek. Seems to have disappeared in later photos.
