"bigbox theatre is excited to announce the revival of it’s production, Marg Szkaluba (Pissy’s Wife), a one-woman country and western musical by Canadian playwright Ron Chambers. Directed by Canadian actor and director Scott T. Sauer and performed by Australian veteran actress Wendy Herbert, the play features original music by Paul-Morgan Donald, which is deftly strummed by guitarist Ohad Levitt.

"The show runs at the Deli Lamma, Yung Shue Wan's Main Street, Lamma Island on Saturday July 11. Tickets are available at Deli Lamma and includes a specially prepared buffet dinner for only $270. Please call 2982 1583 or buy your tickets at the Deli Lamma. Dinner 7pm, Showtime 8pm!

“Marg Szkaluba (Pissy's Wife)” charts the life of Marg (Wendy Herbert), self-proclaimed "hard woman" who marries an abusive lout named Pissy Szkaluba at the age of 16. Through bluesy songs, quirky lyrics, hilarious anecdotes and touching insights about her life, Marg tells of the years of abuse and self-doubt she suffered until, pushed to the extreme of self-loathing, she finally breaks free. Marg tells her story because, as she states at the end of the play, "if we don't tell each other stories about what's happened to us, we ain't gonna learn anything or go anywhere."
