Visiting My Cafe for the very first time, at lunchtime, I tried the full English breakfast at $40 and the Tiramisu.

This place has basically only changed its name with the new owner. Even the paper place mats are still the ones left over from the former Offtime Cafe, but they're turned upside down on the tables, showing the blank backside! The entire interior, even the pictures on the wall have been taken over from the former owner. Laughing

The waiter and the cook are the same person at lunch. Quiet, but friendly and efficient service and the big breakfast (7 items, good value!) took less than 20 minutes to arrive, MUCH faster than Offtime before, but the hot breakfast was all cold by the time it was served on a cold plate. But it was nicely arranged and very tasty, quite similar to the big breakfast in Aroy Thai.

The Tiramisu was basically just the usual sponge cake. The Deli Lamma's superior Tiramisu has nothing to fear from this new competition. The only other desserts were two types of cheesecakes, not a big choice for a "Cafe".

The pretty extensive menu (more than 10 pages) seems to be almost identical to Offtime Cafe as well, incl. the very reasonable prizes:
Breakfast sets from $22, 7 styles of coffee from $20, 7 types of hot dogs from $20, toasties/sandwiches from $18, rice/pasta dishes from $35, 6 styles of cheesecake from $20.

I was there for 1.5 hours, eating, reading, sipping the very strong coffees. I was the ONLY guest during this entire lunchtime.
Good people-watching on Back Street, loud music and aircon blowing, quite a nice place if you're looking for a quick Western lunch, or a peaceful meal with really private service as the only guest. Wink

They said they have no Latte, nor cuppucino, but they have Espresso and milk? I guess the new kids still need some time to play with the full size Italian made espresso maker still. Tiramisu is a joke, and the Lamma Delight does give a surprise by using sour cream. They'd better take a pilgrim to a proper Cafe like the Starbucks opening in every street corner of Hong Kong. Mind them the clock is clicking. Hong Kong people, don't blame the economy, it does take a little effort to make money. These days you don't get a million dollars for a leading position in a queue of flat buyers.

Has My Café closed down?

I've never seen it open anymore fo some time now and there's no notice on the shutters that they're on vacation or redecorating or whatever.

Anybody knows more?
