Walking through Yung Shue Wan, it's finally starting to look a bit like Christmas.
Moving from Europe to Hong Kong just before Christmas 18 years ago, HK Christmas was a big disappointment to me on many levels.
But on Lamma, it seems much more community-oriented, fun, private, arts& crafts-inspired, children-focussed, retaining a bit of the Christmas spirit.
Let's post photos that show Christmastime on Lamma, so very different from the empty consumer frenzy in most of Hong Kong. For some starting-off ideas, here's a little photo gallery I put together 2 years ago:

Typically irreverent Lamma Christmastime photo, from yesterday.
As the Democracy Wall is cleared almost daily, it's become much less effective for ads, as you'd have to replenish the posters almost daily...
I've given up and use mostly just private locations like shops and restaurants for my own posters. You need their permission first, though... _________________ Click here for new Lamma-zine stories and recent Photos of the Day and Artworks of the Day |

I shudder to think what a "wall drill" might be.
Two grinders and a wall drill ... sounds like jailbreak equipment to me!  _________________ Lead me not into temptation;

You'll shudder when you hear them drilling away next door at midnight, or Sunday morning; prime time for amateur renovations. At least we don't get piledrivers as you are likely to in HK and Kowloon. Try working in an office which is bouncing every 10 seconds all day long with 120 decibel accompaniment . |
