Holy smokes! . L-G, that's an awfully nice yacht you've got there! Looks fast, comfortable, and able to outrun the harbour police with little effort. Does it have broadband and a helicopter pad? _________________ Lead me not into temptation;

Thanks Chuckm........ long way to go before I get there........ although one of my bugs pics did win a minor competition a couple of months ago.
But back to the snaps........... a couple of HKKF ferries broke down the other day, so a few lamma residents made alternative arrangements.....
Not sure how long it took him to get to Central. _________________ My inability to tolerate your ambiguity is compounding my neurosis

Yes, of course! Even the helicopter has broadband as well! How else would I beam down the photos I just took from the helicopter directly into my blog?
I wouldn't go anywhere - not even to the toilet - without broadband!
In fact, I only moved to Lamma shortly after they finally got broadband here. Crazy but true...
Did you also know that my Broadband helicopter can be remote-controlled and take pictures of anything on the ground via my remote control? Don't believe me? Here's a photo to prove it! Yours Truly, shot from my remote-controlled broadband helicopter hovering above the ferry pier. Really, that's me, waving!
Unfortunately, the camera's zoom isn't good enough, as the helicopter has to stay 500 ft above the surface, avoiding too much noise pollution on the ground.
My private yacht was just arriving at the ferry pier as well, but was cropped from the photo, unfortunately...
Plus, my photo of the helicopter shot while it was shooting ME! _________________ Click here for new Lamma-zine stories and recent Photos of the Day and Artworks of the Day |

Uh-oh! From that great distance you look suspiciously like a dear friend of mine in Nova Scotia ... a rather, shall we say, 'robust' Estonian lady with a heart of gold and significant culinary skills (used to great effect each 24th February, celebrating Estonia Day ... please don't ask about the vodka hangovers). _________________ Lead me not into temptation;

Hmmm, that looks like fun. I'm gonna try that early tomorrow morning when no one's looking. |

Ah yes. They used this barge to deliver gravel to Hung Shing Yeh about 1996 to build the new beach facilities. In the process they dumped tons of gravel on the beach and in the water and it's been like the Kowloon reclamation ever since. (The soft sand at PSB is what HSY used to be like.) |

Yes, like a painting, almost too perfect to be a photo...
If it really is an unretouched photo, then it's a fantastic shot!
Must be almost maximal optical zoom. 300mm lens?
Somebody will want this as an Avatar... Insomniac, maybe? _________________ Click here for new Lamma-zine stories and recent Photos of the Day and Artworks of the Day |

Thanks......, is virtually untouched except for removing a dust speck in the sun caused from my CCD.
Was the 300mm but cropped for composition. Taken from the Pagoda by MST. _________________ My inability to tolerate your ambiguity is compounding my neurosis

You know Yogesh...... you may be right it was positioned & looked just like "823". I just assumed my ccd was dirty.
Anyway I'll plead poetic licence coz it looks better without. _________________ My inability to tolerate your ambiguity is compounding my neurosis

Nice images Mo.
Looks like you are reducing the size of the images to come under the 100kb allowance per image.
Just before you reduce the actual size..........
Open icon w/Paint.
Save
Close
Image byte size will be reduced hugely....... probably well below 100kb.
Then just reduce the actual size to suit the forum - somwhere between 500-650mm across the horizontal (that way people don't need to scroll across each time to read text - a mistake I have often made ) _________________ My inability to tolerate your ambiguity is compounding my neurosis
