The "lady" in the middle of the back row is an Indonesian called Santi, who doesn't actually work at the Deli at all.

I noticed a new, nice, very extensive menu booklet at the Deli.

The food seems to be as great as ever, as tested during our recent $300 celebratory lunch for three.

So, what's new?

New menu, let's start a new ratings poll for the Deli...

Two thumbs up from me for the few items I've tried on the new, very extensive menu so far. I love the Falafel!

The Deli has reached cult status. Whcih means there's a sizeable following that go there again and again despite the laid back service, over-intoxicated cocktails and the occasional dud meal. The place has soul and that's what gives it appeal. Where else can you dance on the tables and smash a hundred glasses without getting thrown out. Also where else can you run up a thousand dollar bar tab???

I think it is a bit of a stretch to call it falafel, more like a kofta ball, but it is a nice dish which I have enjoyed on many occasions. The new menu's pretty extensive and I miss some of the stuff from the old one but fortunately Praf the Fool will cook stuff from it if you ask.

Wow, the Deli Lamma is 13 years young already!
They're celebrating with a Korean BBQ this afternoon, a first for Yung Shue Wan, I believe??

Anybody still remember the original opening of the Deli, 13 years ago? Any good stories?
Or the time "Praf the Fool" took over? About 8 years ago?

I reeemember when.......I got absolutely hammered on 3 glasses of rum and cokes (Deli style). I stumbled in to the kitchen thinking it was the loo.... only joking.!!!! To be honest whenever I have a great time down the deli I can never remember the details just the sex and the lock-ins, and the fact the deli never sells fags.!

Like every year, the Deli Lamma will be closed this Thursday, Dec 6, in remembrance of the owner's late wife.

No food or drinks will be sold, but you're welcome to stop by for a free glass of wine with Prafull.

Apparently there is a Thai and Indian buffet in the Deli tonight - Prafull said as I went past its 80 bucks per head 7-10 or until the food runs out. Good selection as well and none of the "in the hong kong style" thai food - original from a Thai chef!

Well I had it last night, and it was very good indeed. Tom Yum Gai was sublime; really good. Shitty weather though and had to drink.
