| This is amazing! Does anyone know the dpi resolution of the large-sized map? also is there anyway to save a chunk of the image as a jpeg? Then I could find my house and send my family the aerial view of where I live... |

Here's the JPEG version, contrast and colours improved in Photoshop.
Basically you need to set the screen to high-resolution and then show the Google map in maximum zoom-level with the browser set to View-Full Screen to get the largest map possible.
Then pressing the Print Screen key will capture the entire screen (works for basically anything you can display on your screen, any program) and you can paste the captured screen image into any image program to crop, process and save it.
That's how I did the JPEG image below. Right-click on it to save it to your hard disk.
The map seems to be at least two years old, I'd guess, as none of the recent construction shows up yet, no helipad, no "WatchWhatTower" pavilion, no "Lammarina", no newly built Village Houses...
