Available later this month...

This is the 2nd book by Harry recently.

"A Dirty Story", a children's book with his illustrations has been published recently. A great Christmas present for children bertween five and eight, but also for the "young at heart" and Harry's many fans, like myself.

I tried to get a review copy for the Lamma-zine, but the publisher didn't respond, after they contacted me first asking for some some free publicity for the book.

Where can we get copies of "Dirty Story?" Maybe Mylamma could be an informal distibution point? (Special price for lamma residents?)

Available in most major bookstores. Written by local writer Sarah Brennan, as a 28-page poem telling the story of the towns Neat and Grot, with large, detailed illus by Harry (PPP, $128)..

We could ask Harry himself for discounts and local distribution, maybe even signing them. As I couldn't even get a review copy from the publisher who asked me for free publicity, I wouldn't hold my breath for lower prices from them directly.
But Harry himself could get a small number at a discount, I'd assume.

A natural distribution point would obviously be Nick the Bookman.

You can order Dirty Story via Paddyfield. They deliver locally by mail at no extra charge. They don't have Harry's View yet, but should when it's officially released. It should come up on this page then.

The Bookworm used to actually sell new books, but I think they're mostly used as wall coverings now. It's been a long time since they had any literary events; I was involved in a few book signings there many years ago when David was running it.

Although the drawings in the books are mine, I'm not actually a book dealer so have no control over the retail price or the sale and distribution of them so unfortunately am unable to do anything about discounts. The books don't belong to me.

If someone wants to try selling Dirty Story at the Fun Day, they could probably get a dozen or so books from the publisher -- generally they allow 40% or more discount on retail, unsold books can be returned. Doesn't seem likely Harry's View will be available before then though.

Looking at PPP's web page I think they provide publishing services rather than being being a normal publisher -- which explains why they didn't follow up with LG, they don't really have a stake in the book. If you don't get a quick response from them, you'd need to get in touch with the author, Sarah Brennan.

That's where you're wrong. They are the sole publishers of that book. The author just gets a royalty based on sales. Perhaps they didn't want a review.

Harry, Im throwing a children's birthday party and was wondering if you could come and draw some caricatures of the kids--- you know, big-head-on-little-body stuff. We would pay you, of course, and there will be hot dogs.

Perhaps if you threw the children, I could draw that.

They actually financed the production rather than the author? Just their website, all one page of it, looks more like they do books to order rather than originating them. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I do it myself after all.
