Four Lamma bands playing at Rockit!
Details as confirmed so far, provided by the bands themselves::
"Local Lamma delicacy Garoupa will be serving up endless amounts of energy...and sauce.
On the Rockit main stage this Saturday at 2 p.m.
Groove to the bait and get hooked."
"Then, on Friday 22nd it's ROCKIT, at Victoria Park, Causeway Bay.
NUDE will be rocking the Marquee Stage at 5pm. ROCKIT lasts the whole weekend, but if you only want to come Friday, tickets for the day are $150."
Details for the performances of Flowers of Babylon and Over a Dogma to follow soon. _________________ Click here for new Lamma-zine stories and recent Photos of the Day and Artworks of the Day |

Breaking news just in:
No Drum Jam w/Kumi at Rockit this year. She was ready to do it - together with her baby Aya - but the Rockit organisers refused to cover the expenses.
Same with the Lamma Tipi, a landmark of last year's Rockit. Expenses not covered by organisers, so it's been cancelled. Plus Tipi Mark, the tipi building expert, seems "lost" somewhere off Lamma, off-HK these days.
"Lamma bands @ Rockit 2" update from Kumi:
"I'm playing in a band called BASS CADETS on Sunday at 5 pm on (the tent) stage. It's a local dub reggae band, mixture of westerners and Chinese (and me, japanese). Big Fat bass with DJ, sampler, guitar, melodica, and me playing drums and percussion." _________________ Click here for new Lamma-zine stories and recent Photos of the Day and Artworks of the Day |

from bbChris of Flowers of Babylon, her "other" band who made it into Rockit.
Thinking Out Loud didn't succeed in their audition, unfortunately:
"FOBS on 3:15pm on Friday!! Two hours before NUDE!! Just found out myself!!"
Rockit schedule for all Lamma bands will go into the Lamma-zine Blog tomorrow... _________________ Click here for new Lamma-zine stories and recent Photos of the Day and Artworks of the Day |

So what's the feedback on Rockit then? The Cooper Temple Clause were a bit insipid, Garoupa and Over a Dogma (Hamada's band) were both great, Dive,Dive and Regurgitator rocked and Aqualung were the wrong band in the right place. I missed Nude but did see them at 1/5th.
Will it be bigger and better next year or more expensive and not so good?
If you missed regurgitator they are playing at Amnesia on Friday night though. _________________ Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like bananas |

Did you see Zoundz? They're probably the best metal band I've seen here.

| I must say, Nude were shit-hot on Friday. Packed out the marquee, dumping huge sacks of funk all over the place. Nice one lads (and lady). |
