The Village Representative of YSW, Fong Kam-Hung, has put up a "Ferry Fare Increase Suggestion Box" on Main Street (opposite Emily's ice-cream shop).
You're welcome to drop your suggestions in there and have them ignored at will. Yes, the local village representative wants to hear YOUR opinion, in Chinese or even in English!
I wonder what suggestions he's expecting, besides "DON'T!"
Here's the detailed fare increase application for all fares, as an "English Notice for Lamma Foreign Resident", including all contact numbers. 6.7% - 11.1% fare increases all across the board...
Anybody got suggestions on what suggestions to put into this Suggestion Box? _________________ Click here for new Lamma-zine stories and recent Photos of the Day and Artworks of the Day |

I saw several of these posters pasted up on walls around town, including the "Wall" below the hotel. So put Fong down for a $1500 littering fine. |

Honestly, ALL of us need to do something about this (saying the ferry services are not good enough for such increase in ticket fare).
Perhaps we need a signature campaign for that if not too many people will send their comments to the Department (fax: 28152291) | .

Feedbacks on the increase in Lamma ticket fares
Responding to the augmentation on the ticket fares proposed by the Hong Kong Kowloon Ferry Company, please send your feedbacks to the Home Affairs Department (Fax: 28152291) ASAP:
Here are what we sent to the Department on 23rd December 2004:
“Personally we do NOT object the increase in the ticket fare IF AND ONLY IF the ferry services WILL be improved in the following ways:
1. The frequencies after 21:30 should be 45 minutes rather than 60 minutes;
2. The frequencies in between 09:30 to 10:30 should be shortened by either
A) providing an additional 10:00 ferry; or
B) changing the timings of the original 09:15 and 09:30;
3. Provide an additional service from Aberdeen to Yung Shue Wan (via Pak Kok Tsuen) at 21:15.
For the BENEFITS of yours AND Lamma people, please be active in voicing out what WE need. |

News on the HKKF fare increase: the Transport Department has given HKKF's application the green light.
Fares will go up from 1 February 2005, and to briefly sum it up for YSW and Central route:
Slow ferries: $11 on Mon - Sat; $14 on Sun and Public Holidays
Fast Ferries: $16 on Mon - Sat; $20 on Sun and Public Holidays
Monthly tickets will cost $495.
Check out the notices at the ferry piers for details. |

Many thanks for the Lamma-zine Blog headline news, dear Official Court Reminderer - Monthly Ferry Ticket.
Stp HKKF got all the increases they've asked for - except $5 less than they wanted for the monthly ticket increase - obviously without a single concession or improvement of service or additional late ferry. Sadly, as expected... _________________ Click here for new Lamma-zine stories and recent Photos of the Day and Artworks of the Day |

.... No. If you want to come home any time of day or night you really have to move ! I suggest staying out until 7am ... lots of people moaning about the price of ferries going up but here you are wanting another late ferry to serve p1ssheads that want the cheaper rents of Lamma ... late Friday ferries will probably mean an increase in your rents !
Take your pick ! |
