So "design" means "pasting random clip art" now?
-- I wouldn't be so snarky, but the "Lamma pagoda" is a bit too much. And the cyclone is in very poor taste if it means anything at all.

I'll forward your comments to the designer. Not sure who actually designed it.

I was wondering about that "cyclone" myself.
I'd blame this worldwide "random clipart" affliction on PowerPoint...

from the Lamma Fun Day organisation committee (I'm doing the online promotion & PR).
They're just asking for two hours of your time to be an active part of the Fun Day, the rest of the day off to explore the Fun Day yourself.

Provisional line-up of bands playing at the Lamma Fun Day:

Garoupa, Over a Dogma, Yung Shue Wankers, Red Star RIsing (after sunset), Airtub (!!!!) and the Power Station Band again.
They were brand-new last year, first public performance, so they've got a year's practice by now...
Airtub will perfom this coming Friday at Underground and is one of the up-and-coming HK bands.

The Fun Day bands are:

Red Star Rising
Inca Voodoo
Airtub
The Yung Shue Wankers
Jovelyn
Garoupa
Over a Dogma

But there is no firm running order yet.

And the Lamma Fun Day website is finally online, including most of my photos of the last 3 years' Fun Days:

I'd like to be a good citizen and volunteer, but...I'm almost afraid to ask...WHAT is Australian dancing? I'm guessing it's the sort of thing only an Australian could do?

Plenty of material for lagerphones to be made on Lamma!

Could be aboriginal dancing though -- that'd be a lot more fun than a bush dance

Ich ging zu Dickstock und mochte wirklich Steve Crays Felsen annd Rollentiertat. Sie war mir von mir sehr kühl und erinnert, als ich pflegte, im Bad zu singen, als ich ein junger Mann war.

Bands playing on the beach on Sunday's Lamma Fun Day, according to Music Co-ordinator Kevin:
1 p.m. -- Jovelyn -- an extraordinary Hong Kong singer-songwriter. Check out her music on: www.jovesmusic.tk
1:30 pm -- Harry Llufrio (Lamma acoustic player and favorite from past Lamma Fun Days returns to the stage).
2 pm -- The Yung Shue Wankers -- the name says it all. An all-time Lamma favorite.
3 pm -- Air Tub -- one of Hong Kong's best bands, blending European and American rock with a dash of Asian flavor: www.airtubmusic.com
    3:45 pm -- Auction
4:15 pm -- Hong Kong Electric Band
5 pm -- Garoupa -- This seminal Lamma band performs some of the finest original music in the SAR: www.Garoupa.net
6 pm -- Red Star Rising -- the latest band to come out of Lamma, getting it done with their own concoction of blues and rock originals.
7 pm -- NUDE -- They said their gig last week on the main stage at Rockit! would be their last of the year. They lied.

TO ALL OF YOU!!

A big whopping THANK YOU! For all your efforts on probably one of the best Lamma Fun Days EVER!

Without your help and the help of over 70 volunteers that were recruited for the day, we would not have been able to pull off the event we saw yesterday!

I hope you got some time to relax and enjoy the day and then had a good night's sleep!

The money is being counted as you read, and I will keep you updated as to the money coming in. Fingers crossed that we hit our $100,000 target.

In the meantime, enjoy the rest of the week and again, well done on a FANTASTIC job by all of you!

If you've got any good Fun Day photos, email them to me for inclusion in the Fun Day photo gallery on this site and the Lamma Fun Day website as well.

Email me any number and file size of photos (no need to scale down the photos, send them straight as you uploaded them from your camera) to my Gmail account that can handle very huge attached files:

Full credits, of course!

I hear tell that it was a grand day out indeed, and that there may have been a few drunken folk making the most of beer on tap - what a winner that must have been. Bloomin vast quantities of cash made for CWS too. Ach it could fair bring a tear to the een.

I'll have to start saving and get myself out for Fun Day 2006.
