"secured financial and employment proof."??
Wow, that's a new one for Lamma, never been asked for my tax return or income statement before when renting a flat on Lamma!

Dare we ask for the rent, as we might be interested?

Hi Lamma-Gung,

Nobody ask for your tax return or bank/income statement. But financial inform contained in employment letter is sufficient assurance that the tenant can pay the rent on time. Enlighten me if it is too much to ask for an average low level of rental price that these small units can attract. I don't think it is anything new in the market because a property agency would require the same info from prospective tenants as well. If you are interested in the property, do send me a message on Whatsapp. These requirements ensures good and happy relationship for both the landlord and the tenant, and also for a healthy rental property market on Lamma Island.

Ask for that if you like, but it is certainly not standard practice here.

That's what deposits are for.

Also, kudos for trying to make small size a positive feature.
The only advantage of 350sq ft is that the rent should be half a 700. In this case, I'm guessing not since you omit that.

Usually smaller units rent for more PSF than larger units. Recall the recent news that subdivided and cage homes in crap areas / buildings are more psf or as much as larger flats in nice areas. Likewise, on lamma 350s are psf more than 700s. Dollarfull recently had some 150sf nano units going for 5k, now has a 180sf for 5.5k. Less is more, as they say.

Less for renters, more for owners, as I say.
