I missed it myself even though somebody called me to alert me on the survey and I rushed to the ferry pier at 9am. Fortunately, somebody else scanned it in and I published it right away in the Chin. and English forums.

You can print from here, fill it in and fax it (no email address on the survey, but it's yulaifan@netvigator.com) or drop it off in her office, just after the Lamma Gourmet. Her office must have spare copies and I assume there must be more distribution actions by her office coming soon.

But the opposition has just been distributing Chinese leaflets along Main Street today, Buddha's Birthday holiday, basically a Chin. translation of the Living Lamma story I published in the Lamma-zine a few weeks ago.
The Chin.-only leaflet includes an appeal to email complaints to the District Council and Rural Committee offices:

Well, there's a frank admission!

"We have no intention of pressing ahead with the project without the substantive support of the public..."

Great! That sounds reasonable. Oh, wait, hang on, he's not finished...

But won't the public outnumber the local residents? And there's more...

Oh! I see now. They're going ahead with the project regardless. But consulting with the public on details.

As for Yu Lai Fan's questionnaire, it clearly cannot produce a valid measurement of public opinion. Universities could use it as an example for students of how not to conduct a survey.

It might have a chance of succeeding as a PR masquerade so that she can say she has consulted the community.

And what happened to the final question: "Are you registered to vote against me?"

This bilingual questionnaire is still available from Yu Lai Fan's office or can be downloaded from this website. Deadline: end of May.

I'd suggest to fill it in, especially the comments section, to let your opinion be heard clearly. This is the first major survey of residents in recent years - the last ones were by Save Lamma and HKKF. It's better to participate in a flawed, moderately biased survey than in none at all, IMHO. Not participating will not achieve anything, but filling it in will at least get your opinion heard and counted.

We'll be very persistent with Lammadonna and the Govt. (who'll receive the survey results) to get the detailed results published and not just a misleading summary like the recent "3,000 signatures supporting the Bike Park!" banners.

I just printed out a copy and dropped it in the box outside YLF's office.

I could easily have done 20 copies and no one the wiser...

So I wonder what our impartial vote will be revealed to be?

What about upgrading the pier near the Football court? Its close to the hospital...surely it would be a cheaper, less time consuming and a Lamma friendly option.
