Wow - quite a big deal for Big Neil. I'm afraid I can't distinguish between these two, so will have to let the hotshots argue it out.

Nothing concrete on the Verditer/Pale Blue... seems to be causing some consternation with the powers that be... I'm still leaning toward the Pale Blue

Thrushes started arriving today.... with male & female Japanese,1st winter male Grey-backed, & a male Pale Thrush

It's official, then. First day of spring. Or maybe it was just a Valentine's Day serenade.

The coucals have been whooping it up, especially on humid days. I haven't heard a koel doing its thing yet though.

Reviving this most-popular-ever topic of this entire website, with an active Lamma bird photographer using a "big bazooka" of a lens, Howard Sheard:

I do not know the name of this species. It never stops and moves with the speed of light or faster. So, I felt lucky when found this shot quite presentable.

Very nice - looks like a yellow-browed warbler. As you say they they jump around like maniacs so it's very difficult to get a shot.

Seeing a lot of birds around... up at the wind turbine a couple of days ago was a flock of several hundred Crested Mynahs.... down at the new "housing Development Area" near PSB are about 100 Munias & best of all... "Old Nog" is hanging out in the harbour

Public Facebook photo album from Stanley Chan (Lamma Corner shop beyond Bookworm Cafe) with most Lamma birds, including their English and Chinese names. Great pictures!

Probably everone has got a photo of that egret because it poses patiently to the slow photographer. Still, I can’t stop being amazed.
