lammanaut {L_WROTE}:
Thought I'd get away with banning users, deleting posts, being feared and respected and stuff... living off bribes and donations... now it sounds like I'm not even gonna get a "MODERATOR" t-shirt.
Hmmmm, with this kind of attitude you might be best suited for the Fight Club which also has been moderator-less for several years now. But it's become inactive without a moderator, so it would take some time to revive it.
But your talents might be well-suited for this Parenting forum.
And Alan is right; as this forum is non-commercial (unlike the Lamma-zine supported by ads and sponsors) moderatorship is an unpaid volunteer position. But it shouldn't take more than a few minutes every day or two, basically just keeping an eye on any new posts in your (and other) forums and posting yourself occasionally to keep the topics active and going, answering questions, encouraging members to post more, maybe even start up a new topic or poll occasionally....
And yes, you WILL have the ultimate power of
"banning users, deleting posts, being feared and respected and stuff... living off bribes and donations" (not). But if you overdo it, I have the ULTIMATE POWER to ban moderators, delete their posts, disrespect them publicy and confiscate their bribes!
I like the idea of a "Lamma.com.hk MODERATOR" T-shirt! As I haven't done a new poster for Lamma's walls in a while, maybe I could do that together with very exclusive MODERATOR T-shirts. But a more generic "Forum member of Lamma.com.hk" (any better slogans?) T-shirt might sell better at the Lamma Fun Day... or not.
