Thanks. Is a White-breasted Kingfisher - several pics previously posted in "Lamma top 10 Birds".

I'll see what I can do about naming them, although all birds are shown at some time or another in "Top 10" along with many other excellent photographs from Yi Gou, Harry & others.
But back to the weather......

Thanks Bob.......... very kind of you
No images are missing......... are all on page 1.

As to the why..........
If I kept posting all the images as a "latest post" we'd be several pages longer by now.
Regulars who know about the little "latest post" icon on the front forum page can click on it and see the latest weather report.

However, there are people who either:
a) don't know about the "latest post" icon;
b) don't want to trawl through 20 messages & images in the latest page
c) when they see "Weather Report" will click on the tag line on the front forum page & will be taken to the first page,.....meaning they would then need to either look through umpteen pages to see all the images, or then go to last page to see the latest entry....... as it is they get taken to the latest weather report which is the first entry on the first page and can at the same time see all the images posted.
d) or might want to see all the images on one page (the first page)
e) or might want to see the weather report from the observatory & see how it's panning out or has panned out
f) or it might just be me, being bloody minded.

Whichever...... it works for me  8)

As to the why some images are retained in subsequent pages, is generally when people have "replied" & so as not to make their remarks redundant.

But the # of views this thread is generating is getting smaller as people get bored............ however seems to be a general malaise in the forums, and on some days there are very few comments or input anywhere. So may as well carry on.
Shall try & think of making it more interesting as soon as I have the time.
But in the meantime are getting an image a day from Lamma, which can't be all bad......... Can it?

The frog photographed is a Brown Tree Frog, Polypedates megacephalum, which is common and widespread locally (despite its name, it does not always need trees).

Wow, more pictures for the 'Butterflies and Moths' thread.

Very nice, Guy. I would think that they are a bit more difficult to capture with the same satisfying punch that your bird photos have become known for, especially with those species having soft-edged colouration.

On the other hand, it's a lot less risky than wasps (unless Lamma has man-eating moths :D )

Guy,
giving the names of your Bird of the Day would really be appreciated by your many fans out there!

Is this the funny, extremely unusual one with the huge red beak you've featured before?

Congratulations, Guy!

That Photo of the Day of the Kingfisher today (June 14, '06) is almost perfect! Composition, pose, sharpness, cropping, contrast, colour, blurred background, it could hardly be any better in the photographic and aesthetic sense!

I dub thee "Official Court Flora & Fauna Photographer of Lamma.com.hk"
