I was rather put out last Friday when eating at B&B, after confirming with the waiter that it was indeed happy hour, "two for one", and ordering a beer with my meal, to find after finshing the second one that I was presented with a third, along with the information that it was actually "three for two". So I paid twice what I had expected and had 50% more beer than I wanted. And it wasn't a linguistic problem, my wife is Cantonese and took a keen interest in the details as she does in all monetary and culinary matters.

Perhaps they could put down their policy in black and white on the menu before they piss off more customers.

Around the sewage pipe, BYO is de rigeur

would somebody please explain the minus ten percent service charge?

I have had to deal with negative equity, so in principle I suppose negative service charges are possible. Wouldn't it be great if that caught on? I wonder if that -10% would be legally binding. Test case anyone?

And anyway, there are establishments where a negative service charge would be highly appropriate.

Looking at the price increase for these yearly Christmas specials - see above, up from $238 just 3 and 4 years ago - it looks like the "good times" are back, at least for our restaurants?

Did you notice similar substantial price increases when eating out on Lamma?
