You won't believe it, RIchard!

Ulrik of the former Water Front fame is the new manager since last weekend!

Great! I wonder if he will leave his dogs locked up to starve to death again, when he has to run from Lamma for being a drunk, no-good fuck.

Apparently, he's left already, if indeed he was ever really there ....

Does that mean there'll be no Danish Dog Platter after all?

I heard he was only back on Lamma because the old Cement Quarry works needs to empty its huge slurry pit. To save a few bucks on pumping they told Ulrik that it was full of Vodka and that he was welcome to drink the lot. The plan has so far failed because a keen-as-herring Ulrik set out over there but stopped for a swifty in the Island Bar and, after six hours, fell over on the steps outside. He says he will make other attempts in the coming days but is yet to work out how to get through YSW without passing a pub.

No posts here for a while, so decided to try this for a birthday dinner for four. Food was tasty and served promptly. Grilled halibut with a cheese sauce went down very well, and the rogan josh was more than the equal of a comparable Indian establishment in my opinion. The steak was tasty and reasonably tender. Very nice breeze blowing by the harbourfront table made it a relaxing and pleasant meal all round. A little bit pricy for everyday, though, ($280 not including drinks) especially with the mandatory 10% service charge.

Lamma-Por and I enjoyed our Christmas Eve dinner in the Water Front. It was a very pleasant meal.

Hung-Kee is a very friendly, amiable and generous host, and his wife and son Sky are helping out as well. Much better, friendlier and more efficient service these days than months ago when it was... well, umm, let's forget about that...

The meal was huge (2 half spring chickens, roast potatoes plus a heap of mixed vegetables for a SINGLE serving. We took home half of it and it'll make another delicious and complete lunch for one. I'd recommend the beef and chicken over the lamb roast.

Don't forget to order the complimentary glass of house wine. Also, tell them where you've heard about their Christmas Special Set dinner, please!

This fine place really desperately need more publicity and more customers! It's still an insider tip, away from Main Street, not easily found by tourists and only attracting few locals and few barflies, even though it's got better food and is a much better deal than several competing places on Main Street (British full breakfast @ only $50.)

It's time to start promoting and marketing themselves, put up a few posters and signs, organise an event, do more promotions like this Christmas Set Dinner, maybe even spend a few hundred dollars to advertise, anything to get more customers in the door.

Before I forget, this set dinner will be available till Jan 1st.
