e {L_WROTE}:
this is why my favourite "tea restaruant" here in ysw!
delicious chicken wings.

Lamma-Gung {L_WROTE}:
Yes, I like this place a lot as well!
We like to go there for dinner quite often.

Cheap, toasted Chinese-style sandwiches and delicious fried beef noodle platters, big enough to share for around $26, plus soft drinks for $9!

But their TV is a major distraction to Cantonese speakers, not a place for dating...

Just closed down permanently, after many years in operation.

Anybody knows more details?

Our alphabetic friends have been old patrons of the Nam Wah Yuen for god knows how many years. It might be embarrassing for them to tell from the start as it might review their age secret, but I'm sure you can dig something out from them.

Yes, our alphabetic friends (with numeric pets (mr 3)) might know a lot more than they're willing to tell us.

But just this morning one of the Nam Wah Yuen's "competitors" told me that another Chinese family will take it over and reopen it pretty soon...

we are still mourning over the closure of Nam Wah Yuen...... talking about the details of the loss is just too heart-breaking for me now.

I broke the news to a co-worker who grew up on Lamma... he was heart- broken too

Meanwhile, regular Nam Wah Yuen customers would know that NWY was the 'prefered' restaurant for the police (the poster that was on the window said so), so where are the cops having their tea breaks now? I wonder...

When I went there after CNY it's reopened(?). The tea sets are great and good valued. Will try the breakfast combo later.

It was only closed for about one week, before another Chinese family took over.

Most former regulars stopped going there, even though the menu & prices seem pretty similar to before. Also, many people have commented on a big drop in service and food quality, including myself.

My favourite breakfast E: two boiled eggs+sausage+becon+ham+toast+bottle of milk, for just $20!!! You can't get that ANYWHERE in HK.

But they've cancelled it these days!!! :?

Freddy Law posted a very good picture in our Chinese forum topic.

For those who were there last night, Nam Wah Yuen left a mark in their happy memories.

Great poster! It'll be copied to the home page for more people to see.
Many thanks to Freddy "I'm the Law!"
