The photo just goes to show that Jesus is everywhere. The Devil is also lurking, so take care. The spirit of Hitler is alive and well in this house in Swansea. Visiotrs asking for directions to the "Hitler House" are told "Western Front, third on the Reich"

Vanoclamma...... PHEW!!!!!!!!

Welcome to Lamma. We are a diverse community with a multitude of views regarding faith and how we choose to live our life, but ultimately (on the whole then,.) accepting of what others believe, even though it may not be the same as our own.

And we all get along regardless of our beliefs.

Lighten up mate... you are coming across as a fundamentalist.... and that's different.

And it's so bloody boring!!

To be honest... the last time a someone put a 'big cross' on a' barren hill' someone got hurt.... I'll support the idea if lamma residents can use it for purposes first intended.

[/quote] That's cool, but guys please don't say we're cramming religion down peoples' throats,

Is this the same group that has the church in Sha Po Old Village?

If so.... you ARE cramming religion down people's throats!!

I have two friends who are neighbours nearby, and they have made many complaints to 'this church' ... as Sundays are very busy, the lights are very bright at night, and it's constant noise all day with singing 'Praise the Lord' kind of songs and noisy socialising.

Respect your fellow man etc...... and yeh let them enjoy their Sunday's too!

As for festivals... yes, there are noisy festivals, and there are cultural temples, and even weekends were the 'Mah Jong' parties can keep you awake. But it's not in your face 24/7.

I respect everyone's faith. Whatever floats your boat... great!

But you need to have some consideration that people just don't want a giant cross stuck in their face every day.

The cross is an instrument of torture too remember. When I see giant crosses on a hillside it just reminds me of how many people have been killed and tortured over the centuries because they haven't agreed with christianity.

I study Traditional Chinese Medicine (as a hobby).... and years ago I would have been tied to the cross and burnt as a witch for this hobby.

So no...... some people just don't want this. you have asked a question, and you have had many answers.

Build yourself a little shrine :-)

OK, this very interesting topic (hmm?) needs a few basic questions answered.

1) We must assume it will not be made of wood (those poor trees)
2) Not plastic (how dreadful to the environmental community).

So, will it be grown in some sort of hedgerow stuff, around bamboo supports?

In which case it might, Heaven forbid, get knocked down in the next typhoon?
