"What Is Love?" discussion in the Lamma Spirit Philosophy Cafe":

"The January meeting was a surprising success.

Despite the late publication of the topic and date of the meeting we had our largest attendance to date. The discussion on the nature of Love and its various aspects was animated and wide ranging, and several people adjourned to one of the Lamma bars to continue after the meeting came to a close.

Once again – we are always looking for people to get involved with the Lamma Cafe. If you have a topic you’d like to discuss at a meeting please let us know. If you would be willing to introduce the topic and start the discussion rolling that would be most welcome. And if you’re not shy about speaking up but are lacking inspiration – we have a list of several possible subjects that you could research and introduce.

Please volunteer! Our group is a communal effort, and works best when more people take an active part."

You really need to cut this shit out. You're not clever or edgy or whatever you think you are. Even if you were good at making jokes, which you're not, domestic violence is a deeply unfunny subject. Mods, can we get rid of this nobody?

Lamma Philosophy Cafe April meeting: Where is ‘You’?

"Date: Thu, April 18th, 7-9pm
Venue: Just Green, Yung Shue Wan Main St.
Presenters: Marvin Wallace and Nick Berriff

This month we have a slight change from our usual meeting format:
Two presenters with very different opinions beliefs and approaches to the topic.

Is consciousness a product of your material brain, or is the mind non-physical?
Are body and mind separate – or is the Body/Mind dualism just a ghost in the machine?
How could we tell the difference?

As usual – all are welcome – just turn up and say ‘hello’.
There is no need to take part in the discussion – feel free to just come and listen.
No admission charge – just pay for any food or drink you order."
