This man just destroyed our garden in Sha Po New Village, cutting down trees on the lot opposite and letting them fall onto our garden. A dozen tomato plants, a dozen corn plants, a whole bed of lettuce and our entire herb garden are now defunct. We called the police, but they weren't interested in even coming to look unless someone was injured. Is there anything we can do?

Is the garden actually part of your property?

If so, you can claim criminal damage, trespass, etc, etc. it is a police matter. They are very reluctant to get involved when locals are despoiling the countryside, but they're the ones who can, and should, do something about this.

Go to the main police post near the beach and talk to the highest ranking officer. Insist on a report and complaint being filed. If there is no paperwork, it doesn't exist.

Yes, the garden is part of our property. We did finally get the police over and filed a report. Upon giving the police the above photograph, they said that if they see the man they will tell him not to do that again.
