Hey! does anyone know what to do against an invasion of white aphids? they specially seem to love my tomatoes plants!
I tried to spray 'savon de marseille' diluted in water. It works... more or less... But they jumped on the next plant !

I often try to spray them with water and/or smash them with fingers (with garden gloves on...)
I know they're very much a nuisance. Good luck!

Could these be scale insects rather than aphids?

They are a big pest at this time of the year. If so, soapy water seems to deter them as well as anything, but you have to be persistent.

Not sure what they are in fact... what I know fore sure is that they are white and that they jump very fast and far when you approach your fingers to smash them. I also read today that you could spray an emulsion of olive oil plus water....
No! definitely not this sort Zep! They seem to have sort of long legs a bit like crickets... but very very small! And they jump!
I didn't se them last year... maybe interested in my tomatoes?

Search for Treehoppers. Very common every year in spring on Lamma, don't remember the correct name of this common species, harmless to humans, just bothersome as they get onto your clothes, for example in the Basketball Court. They suck plant juices, a large family of insects, not Spiders or aphids.

They are quite a few photos and posts on them in our Fauna forum.

I think LG might be right - the ones you have shown are adults. Before reaching maturity there are a number of nymph stages or instars. An early instar nymph can look like your beasties, especially the group known as Flatid planthoppers:

Sorry, it should probably be Planthoppers, not Treehoppers:

Wikipedia - Google images

These are most likely nymphs of the Flatid Planthopper, related to probably the most beautiful insects on Lamma, Lanternbugs.
