Just planted veg seeds in the garden brick planters and have now seen two round holes about 3-4 cm. wide appear nearby in the dirt with some sign of mounded earth around them. Back at home (western US) that would indicate some kind of gopher or mole, but the holes would have been a bit larger. Any ideas for me? Seems too small for a snake (and I don't know if snakes even dig holes) and all of the toads I have seen seem to be able to shimmy themselves backwards into the earth with very little disturbance of the soil. Could it be a rat? I am not sure how to proceed and would love to have some idea of what I might expect to find....Many thanks! |

Nope. I never did. But none of my seeds came up in that area. I am watching to see if something emerges from that hole now that it is spring. I will report back. |
