Biligual as Putonghua and English.

Do you think to attend a class like this twice per week is important and necessary? I am thinking of sending my baby to a playgroup for that, but not sure whether it is a good idea or not.

Or do you have better ideas about learning languages for the kids.

Thanks

Sophie

Why Putonghua, the kids aren't growing up across the border?

You're better off exposing your kids to a Cantonese learning environment, where they will be able to use it outside of classes and learn much more by playing with other kids etc. Putongua teaching will be more artifical and only used during class hours. If they then choose to learn Putonghua later in life, fine and it will be easier if they already know another major Chinese language as Cantonese.
