I bought something techie in Wanchai the other day. Unboxing it in my home office, I found this mysterious, intriguing device. What could it be? No, it's not a kitchen implement! No manual or instructions were included in the box.

Even as a former regional IT/Telecom Manager I was perplexed at first. Maybe because keyboards in the corporate world do not change colors and don't come with these cute implements.

The device was a color-changing keyboard and the device's function, both sides, is probably to lift off the keycaps and replace the RGB lights.
Yes, this website is brought to you daily now from a rainbow-color-changing keyboard. But my typing still hasn't improved yet, maybe I spend too much time playing with all the color modes: flashing, rainbow waves, cycling colors slowly, keys lighting up only when pressed, etc...

Yes, it's a keycap puller.

Actually if your keyboard is grimy, you can pull all the keys and wash them in a bag in hot water with laundry detergent. They come out looking brand new.
And with the keys off you can brush or vacuum all the crumbs, hair and other crap out of the base.

I just popped them off with a screwdriver. The proper tool is less likely to damage them.

Could I borrow it for a couple of days? My teeth are due for a service.
