Finally, a decent photo of the entire boar family, by Jeremy Tredinnick, a "Wildlife of the Week submission". Thank you! He called them "A few 20kg "teenagers" making a noise at night...".

A new pic from Lammaite Peter Lloyd: "A seemingly tame wild boar, friendly, tail wagging, by the Po Wah Yuen bins."

Last night at 7:15 a big pig was rooting in the bins just before Hung Shing Yeh. A large dog (though the pig was 2 or 3 times bigger) was barking at it and the pig retreated into the shrubbery, but wasn't at all afraid. PS-- I wouldn't assume a pig wagging its tail was "friendly". Cats certainly aren't. It can be a sign of nervousness or even a warning. Or just flicking bugs away. |

Glad to hear that they're still around as we didn't have many sightings in the last few months, after loads of sightings all over Lamma in Spring. So they've survived the local "hunting parties" of a few months ago, when the feral pigs got rooting in quite a few vegi fields and gardens, upsetting many locals. |

In case you missed these elsewhere, they were near the bins in Po Wah Yuen |

Thanks, Howard! Bea writes: "I spotted the wild boars again, same time, same place - around 1 am at the Po Wah Yuen bins. A herd of about 8 boars." |
