Greenman, up in a tree, a most unusual and very rare shot!

A new shot from Master Photographer Howard Sheard. He's either used a really good, long lens, or got uncomfortably close?

Photo from Nick Shearman, from the pretty active Facebook group, Lamma Snake Sightings, with loads of pictures and stories.

Nick writes:
"What's worse than seeing a snake in your house? Snake skin... (:-(("

I nearly picked this up this morning while clearing weeds in the community garden. Anyone know if this is the dangerous one or the harmless one that looks a bit similar?

Bamboo pit viper, Trimeresurus albolabris. The red-orange eyes distinguish, as do the lance-shaped head and small head scales. Can't see if the tail's reddish-topped, as in others I've seen. The absence of a white or yellow lateral line suggests it's female.

Photo from Rebekah, via Facebook.
She cleverly tagged the frog as "Lamma Gung", so I'd notice the photo in my overflowing News Feed... ;-)

Unless, it is another expression of rebellious Lamma contesting rules, conventions and convenances…

Well, you're completely and absolutely right, I couldn't have expressed it better myself!

A photo of "Rian's Pet Snake" from the Lamma Snake Sightings Facebook group, just posted by Brad Tarr.

Yes, it's a very poisonous and aggressive Bamboo Pit Viper and this is NOT the right way of handling a viper...

I hope this photo is in the right topic, Rambler?

The best Lamma cobra shot I've seen in years, taken by Julie Hannaford in her front yard!

You might startle any snakes with your torch, perhaps making them more aggressive!

If you just walk past them in the dark, you won't see them and nothing happens, most likely ... except you step on them by mistake...

Hello

Here is an article I found in Check Chit Chat, about snakes
I tought it could be of interest for some of you.
As it is a free magazine I don't think I am breaking any rule but if I do, sincere apologise to the moderators . I know you will take the action that needs to be taken :D

As Goatee Toni is a (current or former) South Lammaite, this should be OK, especially as he's gotten quite a bit of free publicity over the years in the Lamma-zine.

A real beauty posted by Harry Harrison in the Lamma Snake Sightings group on Facebook.

Wildlife of the Week, even though I usually don't publish Instagram-falsecoloured pictures like this one, but it was just too pretty (and frightening) to pass on.

Harry titled it "As we got off the ferry tonight..."
