As a public service announcement:

I was walking on the path from tai peng old village, the one that goes by the kindergarten and exits around brothers laundry, sort of. Anyway, was walking by the firehouse and saw an enormous snake in the path. It was nighttime and I had a flashlight. Stayed a good 15 feet away but for the record, it was no less than four feet long, black, and probably a good couple inches in diameter. It was the biggest snake I have seen in the wild by far.

Today I noticed signs on the same path looking for a lost cat. I'm pretty sure I know what happened to that cat.

You may wish to keep an eye out when passing the firehouse or going to the basketball courts.

I walk back from the beach most evenings on that path. The last week I've seen three snakes there; none very large, 30-50 cm long. Maybe the cooler weather has them moving around a bit more at dusk.

After watching YouTube videos, I think it was a Chinese cobra. I have since seen another smaller one but the one by the firehouse was truly a monster bastard, his midsection the thickness of my forearm.

Apparently venomous so good thing I spotted him before I stepped on him.

Well since we are sharing, here is a pic my husband took of the same kind of snake but much smaller. He guessed this was 4-5 ft long but I think it looks like a baby in comparison to the one I saw.
