Thank you to the pretty young lady who pointed me in the direction of this Common Sandpiper on PSB.....
Is hanging around by the exhaust pipes & looks very much at home.
Think is probably the one that is normally seen in the nearby farmland.

Great shot of the chestnut bulbul - another first for this site, I think? The treetops round my house hve been crawling with them for the past two or three weeks, but I can't get a shot of them close enough - maybe we need Neil with his digiscope. This is the best I've got (the contrast highlights how good Guy's shot is)

Thanks Zep...... but yours is not a bad photo.......... can see clearly is a Chestnut Bulbul..... is what we need more of if we are to create a serious record of the birds on Lamma....... we need more.

There is a lot more on Lamma than are being shown..... and apart from the shorebirds I'll bet we get as many different species here as Mai Po or Po Toi........ we've had the adult male Red-breasted Flycatcher (1st HK record), Chestnut Flanked White-eye, Chinese Flycatcher, Sooty Flycatcher, Emerald Dove..... and several others just from my garden that aren't being seen/photographed elsewhere.
Lamma seems to have more thrushes of various types than anywhere else.
Somebody just posted a Rufous-tailed Robin in HKBWS... the first in 3 years!!!........ I've got about 6 in the garden.

Also check out HKBWS.......... 90% of the photos are not nearly as good as yr photo..... keep em coming.
Is not the quality of the photo.......... is the photo record.

You sure those two ducks are not made of porcelain and attached to your wall? If not, great shot

Yes sure..... you'd be hard pressed to find a piece of wall in my place 6" x 4"' that wasn't flaking.... let alone stable enough to hang a couple of miniature ducks on it.

Hwamei..
Zep...., perhaps I can say it for you........ OMG !!!
Have been after this chap for 3 or so years since my last posting of one in here.
I spent about 20 hours this week trying to get him in a new hide.... took a break & sat in my normal hide & he suddenly appeared & posed.... then I heard 2 of them calling to each other..... go figure !!

Well done - they are super-skulky. The only place they are easy to see is down at the bird market with the old fellows taking them for a walk in their cages. I hear them singing here all the time (very nice song) but the best I get is a fleeting glimpse.
