It's surprising that no-one has commented on what many Lamma visitors see as a landmark establishment for all the time this forum has been going. Tried it out as the last (fortunately for the wallet) of three birthday outings.

The service is efficient if not exactly friendly and the food tasty - chicken and pineapple was fresh and the beef with ginger OK but not out of the ordinary. Prawns in garlic were very tasty indeed and the plate of vegatables and fried rice were what you would expect. Bit of a hassle with prices, being charged more than the price displayed on the menu for one dish, but protests were dismissed with the cursory explanation that "extra weight" had been given. They also decined to give change, the waiter assuming the remainder was a tip and disappearing without trace - rather annoying even though the amount was small, especially as a 10% service charge has already been worked in. At $450 without drinks for four, this is definitely at Lamma's high end of the price range.

So the food was very nice, and it's a good vantage point to watch the entertaining ferry passanger parades pass by, but next time I'll probably steer invitees to an establishment offering better value for money and a slightly more customer-friendly service.
