I just got reminded of The Waterfront's (almost) weekly Sri Lankan Night Buffet on Fridays from 6pm. Reserve to guarantee a seat. Last time I passed by it was full, including large groups of Lammaites inviting their off-island friends! See their newly expanded menu here... Plus their Instagram account with lots of tasty, hunger-inducing, professional photos.

We've just tried this special offer ourselves and absolutely loved it! Quite a bargain, actually, like a staycation in a beachfront hostel, with delicious dinner while chatting for hours with several new friends and a real, huge, built-in bathtub in the 3-room mini-apartment. The next morning, I leisurely biked to the Sham Wan/Tung O beach cleanings. Photos from above and below the sea, plus drone video, plus stories in the Lamma-zine later this week. |

Red Star Rising's gig, scheduled for Lamma Grill, Lamma Island, on Saturday, has been postponed due to circumstances beyond the band's control (people away, etc). Khachapury, a Georgian specialty, kind of a Georgian pizza, enjoyed for late lunch in Just Kitchen in YSW yesterday. One of the very few restaurant in all of HK with any specialties from former Soviet republic Georgia, original home of restaurant manager Sam. HK's rare Russian restaurants sometimes have a few Georgian specialties, but reviews seem mixed. Here's a fine SCMP story about Georgian cuisine: "Ajarian Khachapuri, perfect wet-weather food. A cross between a canoe-shaped pizza and naan bread, it arrived awash with cheese and on the top wobbled an almost raw egg, swimming in a pool of butter." Yes, that's a great description of my lunch yesterday! Looking forward to Sulguni Rolls, Pkhali, Veal Chakapul or Pork Odjakhur in our Just Kitchen in the near future, I hope? Delicious their Khachapury below was, taken home the leftovers were, and yummy they were, even after reheating...
