The waffle shop will be moving to the former Emily's ice-cream shop opposite Pizza Milano soon.

Dozens of suggestions on Facebook so far, add yours and win!

The Indian Thali (Chicken, lamb or vegetarian) seems to have become incredibly popular in The Waterfront Bar & Rest.!

This was our set lunch, ordered by all four of us the other day, 2 chicken, 2 lamb.
Great acclaim and high praises by everybody! This has become by far my favourite Indian meal on Lamma.

The Vegetable Thali is $75, Chicken $80 and Lamb $90, one of the very best deals in the village, for sure.

Shame they don't do it on the weekend so those of us who have to work in town during the week could try it.

Photo submitted by Robert Hope-Jones, photo of closed clothes shop opposite Nick's Corner on YSW Main Street.

Anybody knows more, like when it'll open and is it a move or a 2nd branch of a fast-expanding chain? ;-)
I could ask them, or even go up there in person to distant Tai Yuen Village, theoretically, but it's easier just to post here...

In the meantime, the waffle shop besides the former Diesel's is moving into Emily's right now.
The new name of Diesel's II in the former waffle shop hasn't been announced yet.

As usual, every year lots of changes in the local dining & drinking scene just around Lunar New Year...

As I understand it, they will open as soon as licences are sorted and it is a new (sort of venture) as the original is closing. This is a nice expansion from the first footprint. Better hot foot it over or call them to get the full picture though.

Yummy Yummy, ribs in my tummy

Valentine's Day menus & special packages on Lamma coming in now, from $380 to $580/person:

The Bay, Waterfront, Prime and Concerto Inn.

Who'll offer the most expensive Valentine's Day dinner on Lamma, and the best-value one?

Latest bar & restaurant news:

The Lamma Space, besides the former Diesel's, Joyce's new venture, has been open for a little while now, offering Western takeaway lunch and dinners. Separate story and pictures coming up soon...

Lamma Grill is NOT going to move into the center of the village, just below Love's Dance Studio. They've been looking for another place to move to. More news tba.

Toni the Coffee Guy in Tai Yuen New Village, only open on Sunday mornings before, might be moving to the front of Prime Bar & Grill, offering his gourmet coffee all week. Prime will also be opening earlier, offering breakfasts on some week days.

After the great success of the first Comedy Night in Prime, another one will be happening soon, probably in April. It'll be outdoors and include an open mike session for new Lamma talents.

The "Twilight Fish Market" outside The Waterfront is getting a curvy roof soon, under construction since Lunar New Year. Ah-Ying (Doris) outside Andy's Seafood might move her fruit/veggies/assorted goods stall there as well.

Any more news I might have missed?

Toni sells his coffee every morning, not just on Sundays.

Apparently Doris is now taking the space under Love Studios.

Once the fish market space has its fancy new roof will its opening hours be more user friendly?

One more bar in YSW has just opened!

Seaside terrace and wine bar, great feedback so far!
3 built-in Internet screens, available for private parties (we had the dog poisoning meeting in there 2 months or so ago).

Have a look, just after the Just Green shop (which has a similar seaside terrace for self-serve wine, beer & drinks)

Poster from the "Democracy Fence" (opposite the former "Democracy Wall").
This place inside a G/F shop up in Tai Yuen Village on the way to Hung Shing Yeh beach has obviously been open since before Lunar New Year, but I hadn't notice it as it's far away from YSW Village.

Show them this photo below on your smartphone and get $1 discount. Nice idea! More local restaurants should try this type of promotion. But maybe a more attractive discount and a QR code linking to their location map, Facebook page or website?
