New late-night snacks menu, picked up after another delicious meal in Andy's Seafood Restaurant on Main Street, the most popular Chinese restaurant in YSW, according to a recent, informal Facebook survey.

Just Kitchen up for sale.

Who's got 1 million HK$s to spare for a well-run restaurant, the first non-Chinese from the YSW ferry pier?

Look what I just found on http://www.thebayhk.com/html1/special.html
I'm tempted to try this offer together with Lamma-Por, kind of a Staycation,
maybe before or after attending the largest beach cleaning event ever in Lamma's history, I believe, on Sham Wan's Turtle Beach.

We've just tried this special offer ourselves and absolutely loved it!
Quite a bargain, actually, like a staycation in a beachfront hostel, with delicious dinner while chatting for hours with several new friends and a real, huge, built-in bathtub in the 3-room mini-apartment.

The next morning, I leisurely biked to the Sham Wan/Tung O beach cleanings.

Photos from above and below the sea, plus drone video, plus stories in the Lamma-zine later this week.

Steve Cray writes:

"AND THEN THERE WERE THREE . . .
Red Star Rising's gig, scheduled for Lamma Grill, Lamma Island, on Saturday, has been postponed due to circumstances beyond the band's control (people away, etc).

We'll let you know when we have a new date.
Our next gig is Shazza Showcase at The Wanch, this Thursday."

Khachapury, a Georgian specialty, kind of a Georgian pizza, enjoyed for late lunch in Just Kitchen in YSW yesterday.
One of the very few restaurant in all of HK with any specialties from former Soviet republic Georgia, original home of restaurant manager Sam.

HK's rare Russian restaurants sometimes have a few Georgian specialties, but reviews seem mixed.
Here's a fine SCMP story about Georgian cuisine:
"Ajarian Khachapuri, perfect wet-weather food. A cross between a canoe-shaped pizza and naan bread, it arrived awash with cheese and on the top wobbled an almost raw egg, swimming in a pool of butter."
Yes, that's a great description of my lunch yesterday!

Looking forward to Sulguni Rolls, Pkhali, Veal Chakapul or Pork Odjakhur in our Just Kitchen in the near future, I hope?

Delicious their Khachapury below was, taken home the leftovers were, and yummy they were, even after reheating...

The space on the corner opposite Lung Wah has finally been rented out, after two-three-more? years of being empty.
Last few weeks it's being fitted out, has a serving area and tables, not sure if restaurant or just bar.
Looks like owners are gweilos.

Wonder how long it'll last.

All us fans of Carlos' Tapas bar opposite Jing Jing hope that his new venture, Candela (Candle in Spanish) will last a long time!

Delayed quite a few times, he got this glowing review in the South China Morning Post a few weeks back, as one of the 5 best Lamma restaurants, worth visiting Lamma just to eat there. Sorry, can't find the link.

They've only rented the G/F, so no more upstairs cooking like in Spicy Island times.

The SCMP story was published long before Candela is even open to the public. Just another few weeks, Carlos has promised me all the info as soon as they're ready to open officially!

Anybody here has tried Kuri Kuri, the new noodle shop on Back Street, vis-a-vis the Bookworm Cafe?
https://www.facebook.com/kurikurinoodle/

Is it just the former nighttime-only (5pm-11:30pm, from 1pm Sat/Sun) noodle shop moving a few houses down the road?
