Has anyone else been into 7th Avenue yet? Strange name for Lamma but It's set up really well. Good and welcoming atmosphere and very different to the rest of the Lamma bars. Been down there a couple times and it seems to be getting a good crowd. I love the ideas and the promotions they've been doing. The owner has a lot of good ideas to offer especially because he's such a young lad.
I haven't lived on the island for long but as far as I know, I think they are the first bar to do couple things that we've not had in bars on Lamma.
The first time i went there was to try the food but the owner told me that they were still in process of setting up the kitchen and inventing new dishes so it'd take about a week or so but even then, their selection of beers are much better and different to what other bars on the island offer and i have been going down there pretty often for couple drinks. Although the owner did tell me that they are going to be taking one step at a time with the food so they can get feedback from what people on the island like and work on their menu through received feedback.
Anyone else got any feedback or news?

Been there two times. I think the bar is perfect for me - it's great for younger people who cannot go to the Island Bar.

I agree with you - it is an odd name. Totally out of the Lamma context - which is surprising because the owners are long time Lamma folk. The thought that occurred to me is that they were able to get a good price on a second hand sign.

Perhaps the out of context name was chosen on purpose to suit the out of context bar (for Lamma). I like the bar but will admit the name could have been improved.

Hope the food is good as could really use another option.

True...just sit wth your back to them!

It still amazes me that the rubbish dump is in such a prominant location where everyone on the way to and from the ferry has to walk past it.. Must be a better site for it.

That's actually not true... I asked the owner and he mentioned that the whole concept of the name came from the address of the place "No.7 main street" hence "7th Avenue".
Btw, they are doing really good pizza's and curries at the moment.

They have food now? I've been waiting for weeks to actually try the place, like I would try any new eating place, giving them free publicity after their official opening.

So far, we've only seen rare, special-occasion buffets and several times "We'll be ready and opening officially soon!" 7th Avenue seems to be open only at night, almost never during daytime whenever I walk by? Any official opening hours yet?

Even their Facebook page ("Opened on 1 March 2012") only promotes their many specialty beers and liquors, not any food, and there's no website yet. Many people have been wondering and asking me what type of food they'll be offering and if it'll be "Deli Lamma II", but without the former wonderful location.

The pretty sign was actually designed by former Lamma Artist of the Month Saheb, 7th Avenue's GM or Managing Director (?), I believe. See below.

We'd love to hear from the managers and investors directly, they're most welcome to announce their news and post their promotions in this free forum, our long-standing offer to all Lamma restaurants.

I got to find out their unusual opening hours and give it a try one of these days very soon, keeping an open mind and wishing them all the very best!
There are a quite a few almost-empty bars in YSW already, but a new place to eat well would definitely be most welcome!

Another email from Simo Chau about the concert tomorrow evening in 7th Avenue. Reading her posters and emails, do we have a new exuberant Lamma poet with "extremely creative" English at our hands, a new Pinky Chan? ;-))

I met this great lady for the first time while I was wandering the piers and streets of YSW all that horrible night of Oct 1/2, dazed and sleepless like so many Lammaites, talking to so many stunned old and new acquaintances and friends, updating each other with the latest news and casualty figures....
