LaLa mama's has put up a huge and very expensive poster at the YSW Ferry Pier gate. Great location, targeted directly at Lamma commuters coming back from town; plus arriving tourists, who still have a very hard time finding their location:

Tai Peng Spice (Jane Ram the Gardener) is popping up in Carlito's Way Spanish rest. (opposite Jing Jing) at least once a week:

"Tai Peng Spice will be back for another pop-up session at the Tapas Bar this coming Sunday (July 17). If you would like to reserve food in advance, please e-mail your request with phone number asap: JaneTaipeng@Gmail.com

This week’s selection of home-made traditional spicy and mild vegan dishes from South India will be ready to take away or eat-in, any time from 5.30pm onwards. Ingredients and flavours are balanced to tempt the appetite in hot weather. Freshly cooked extra-long grain Basmati Rice makes the ideal accompaniment.

This week’s line-up includes: delicious Garlic Curry with coconut creme; Red Rasam (ideal hot weather combination of tomato, lentils, tamarind, black pepper and a constellation of freshly ground spices topped with fresh coriander leaves.)

Tender Okra, prepared with fresh coconut and fragrant spices. Green beans flavoured with mustard seeds; Baby Aubergine stuffed with toasted peanuts and almost 20 spices all carefully balanced for maximum impact. Chickpeas made fragrant with freshly brewed tea, ginger, lime juice and coriander leaves plus selected spices. Potatoes mildly highlighted with fresh cumin seed.

Freshly cooked extra-long grain Basmati Rice is available. All these recipes are freshly-cooked at home and prepared without dairy products or wheat.

For sweet endings, ask about our heavenly Indian-inspired puddings."

Birthday party for Lamma stalwart Joyce of Jing Jing on Sat afternoon, Aug 13, 2016:

Carlo brought in his famous, huge paella pan from opposite's "Carlito's Away", the Spanish tapas place.

By the way, the Spanish place - Carlito's Away - is taken over every Sun and Mon night, when Carlito's is closed, by Jane Ram the Gardener who founded and runs Taipeng Spice. She writes:

"Vibrant flavours from Taipeng Spice make a great start to the week.
Assorted vegetarian curries and freshly steamed Basmati rice are available from 6pm onwards on Sunday and Monday (August 28 & 29) at the Tapas Bar.
Also IDDLIS plus coconut chutney, gunpowder & sambar for early birds. For sweet endings, few things beat delicious Indian-inspired puddings (and these are super-healthy).
All takeaway or eat-in. Pre-order to be sure of your favourites. Food can be collected from Taipeng New Village by prior arrangement.
If you would like to supply your own containers, please drop them off at my home by Saturday morning at the latest. Phone 2982 0330."

Having tasted some of her choices myself, I can highly recommend them! Bring your own container, take home and put in fridge, enjoy the same or next day.
