"I am writing to you because my beloved uncle, David Lewis, a long-time resident of Lamma Island is missing. David lived in Pak Kok Kau Tswen. He is a 78 year old Welshman, writer, and fly fisherman. We dearly miss his laughter and sly sense of humour.

"In the past few years he moved to Macau. He has not been seen at his apartment there in over 11 days. We are very worried about him. We hope that he is alive and well. Perhaps he has returned to Lamma Island.

"If you were to hear word of him, we would most appreciate an email."

Email me at info@lamma.com.hk and I'll forward it to Elin.

Dear Elin,
I was just walking in the village and I saw a man who looked very much like the man in the photo, except the man I saw appeared older. I noted the glasses, which are just like those in the photo, and also that he has a large nose. The man I saw was sitting across from the curry fish ball stand and was with a woman perhaps in her 40s. She had her back to me but had long, dark wavy hair and may have been Filipina. The man I saw was tall and thin with white hair. He was dressed nicely in a dark blue suit.

I am sorry I didn't approach him; I wasn't sure that it could be him until I came home and looked at the photo again. Anyone heading into the village, please keep your eyes peeled. I am doing to walk back in and see if I can spot him again.

Feel free to PM me, Elin, if you have any questions.

I tracked down the guy but he said he was not David Lewis. Sorry for the false alarm.
