Okay, I'm confused.
I caught the 0145 ferry last night (and I really wish they'd put that on EVERY night, or at least a few times a week) and my monthly ferry ticket wasn't accepted. I was under the impression that I could use it until the first couple of days of the next month? Clearly wrong. And the guy at Central clearly wasn't going to make a goodwill new year's gesture and budge on that rule.
So I ambled down to the pier on Lamma today to renew my monthly ticket, and from what I understood from the miserable sod who inhabits the booth there, I can renew it only after 5pm in the evening down there. Any logic to this? At all?
Have read a bunch of postings on here about the miserable buggers who work on the ferries and had it all brought home to me last night. All very well those responders saying 'well, you wouldn't smile if that was your job' - frankly, I wish everyone could adopt the attitude that if a job is worth doing its worth doing well and damn well get on with it. Smiling occasionally. Even Brits stuck in the UK aren't this unnecessarily rude at new year. (Okay okay, isn't Chinese new year. But come on).
The monthly ferry pass is a joke. It saves me at most HKD200 a month. AT MOST. Maybe I wont bother anymore. Dratted company.
