From HKKF website
HKKF Staff tested Positive for COVID-19 Thorough Sterilisation and All Staff Testing Arranged Ferry Service uninterrupted
(10 January 2021, Hong Kong) HKKF was informed by the Health Department that a Coxswain was tested positive for COVID-19 while another three crew members were preliminary positive.

All ferries and piers have been cleaned and sterilised thoroughly. With immediate effect, all our staff has arranged to take the COVID-19 test.

The Coxswain was last on duty on 7 January and later tested positive for COVID-19. Three other crew members are preliminary positive including two Engineers and one Sailor.

One of the Engineers was last on duty on 6 January while the others were last on duty on 9 January. These four crew members were on duty on various routes for Lamma Island, Peng Chau, Hei Ling Chau and the Three-Runway.

They all wore mask while on duty and their body temperature were normal when reported to work. They did not travel outside Hong Kong recently.

HKKF immediately cleaned and sterilised all vessels, piers, public areas & facilities staff rest area, etc.

Furthermore, the company arranged all staff to take the COVID-19 test. Staff with close contact with these four crew members are now on leave. We will closely monitor their health conditions.

We have redeployed the manpower, and our ferry service continues to run as scheduled. If needed, HKKF will lease vessels from other companies to maintain the normal ferry service.

HKKF will keep close contact with the Transport Department and monitor the latest development. We will announce the latest news and adjust our services accordingly when required.

HKKF has introduced different pandemic prevention measures and guidelines to staff including all frontline staff must wear facial mask while on duty, measure body temperature when report to work, and always be cautious on personal hygiene. If any staff is unwell or has fever, they must visit the doctor immediately and take leave.

In addition, the company has provided mask, eye protective glasses and gloves for staff’s use. Non-contact infrared body temperature measure device is provided to supervisors to monitor the body temperature of frontline staff. All staff must alert the company if they travel outside Hong Kong.
