Saw the trailer for the upcoming Battleship.
For a change, it's Hong Kong landmarks, not New York, that get whacked.

Looks like a Michael-Bay style Transformers clone.

Hmm, it's the Bank of China building that gets it. A subtle political aspiration from Hollywood, perhaps?

This time, in the upcoming Ender's Game, it's the old BOC that gets hit.

Hong Kong also gets a beating in Del Toro's new movie Pacific Rim out next month. Looks to be a blast that movie!

Guillermo Del Toro on Pacific Rim: We built several blocks of Hong Kong to destroy, and then we destroyed them!

Here's some stills from Pacific Rim.
Looks like the sets they "destroyed" were leftovers from The World of Suzie Wong. Apparently the kaiju are attacking Hong Kong in 1950.

Is there any street, anywhere in HK that looks like this?
And note that 100% of the signage is Chinese. In a normal shop window at least the brand names are in English.

Oh well, it's giant robots fighting giant sea monsters. Shouldn't quibble about authenticity.

And in Transformers 4: Age of Extinction, Michael Bay gets his revenge for the air conditioner attack.
