The worst part is the spiders in the summer. The main dirt trail on Lamma (from the wind turbine over to Sok Kwu Wan) is not possible to run from May to October due to the density of spider webs.
For me, webs are not a problem. Just take a slim walking stick (or pick up a loose branch) and wave it in front of you when you're going through close scrub to break the webs. At least 80% of the trail is in open country with no webs anyway.
A stick is also handy to intimidate any aggressive dogs you might meet.
The main obstacle is it's often muddy and slippery in summer.
