New to Lamma. ... New to HK, for that matter. Can anyone tell me if there are ever open mics on Lamma or in HK? Play guitar and sing these days -- I'm a former musician who's just looking to get out once and a while for some variation from playing by my lonesome in my flat. |

well i think there's an open mic in Island Bar everyweek , but never saw such happening though, i m confused about the day. anyway u can join the Fundraising Carnival this saturday 10th and u can perform for sure. Supposedly, it was happening last year every Sunday late afternoon. But I've been looking out for it in vain myself and even announced events didn't happen or were delayed into the evening when more people were around to listen. Not sure if it's still Open Mic on Sunday afternoons these days? boss might know.... |

Hi, as I understand it, the open mic sessions turned into a bit of a non-event. Several really talented people turned up but at different times and it didn't really work out after a few sessions. Maybe stick your head into the Island Bar over the weekend and ask Kay, the bartend. She organised it before. I do know they have a problem with noise complaints sometimes so its quite important to keep it a bit lowkey from that point of view. I think its a great idea though.

you need a mic to have an open mic. |
