Stepping right off any ferry arriving at Lamma Island you can see ads and shop fronts from different guesthouses ("holiday resorts"), for example more than 5 guesthouses advertising along Yung Shue Wan Main Street. All property agents usually have rooms available on week days. Weekends/holidays are busiest and much more expensive.

There are many places to stay for reasonable rates, from around US$40-100 / night in a little guesthouse to over US$100 in the only proper "hotel".
Most of these places have special rates for longer stays, by the week or month.

Almost none of the Lamma guesthouses promote or advertise on the Internet at all and don’t have active websites, Facebook pages or any form of online reservations. Email forms or plain email or phone calls are the usual way to reserve and some advance payment or a credit card are usually requested.

Call them directly, if convenient, as some of them might not reply at all to their listed email addresses or replies take several days, especially for English enquiries.

Concerto Inn (directly at Hung Shing Yeh beach, 25 minutes from Yung Shue Wan ferry pier, 20 Hung Shing Yeh Beach.
They'll pick up your luggage from the ferry if you call them early. The only proper "hotel" on Lamma (and the only accommodation advertiser/sponsor of this website), w/restaurant & facilities, but the most expensive):
Tel +852 2982 1668, email: booking@concertoinn.com.hk, www.concertoinn.com.hk,

Dollarful Holiday Resort, 21B Back Street, Yung Shue Wan - Tel +852 6126 8879 or 9493 2728 - www.dollarful.com/index-eng.html

Sunrise Holiday Resort, Jackson Property Agents, 15 Main St., Yung Shue Wan - Tel +852 2982 2626 - www.lammaresort.com/resort_e.html.

Man Lai Wah Hotel (right at Yung Shue Wan ferry pier, low-cost guest house, no breakfast or facilities):
Tel +852 2982 0220 - email: ericiris123@netvigator.com (Eric Wong).

Kathmandu Guest House, Back Street, Tel/Fax: 2982 0028 (in the middle of the village where all the shops & restaurants are located, 10 minutes from YSW ferry pier).

Sun Hing Hotel: www.SunHingHotel.com.hk

Bali Holiday Resort, 8 Main St., Yung Shue Wan, Tel +852 2982 4580 (close to YSW ferry pier. bali@netvigator.com.)

There are a few more guesthouses in Yung Shue Wan, Sok Kwu Wan and Mo Tat Wan (for example The Bay www.thebayhk.com/rental.html), but I don't have most of their contacts handy.

Any temp accommodations who'd like to be added here or provide more info, or be featured in our Yellow Pages or on the Lamma.com.hk home page, email me at info@Lamma.com.hk.

A lot of people hear there is a "youth hostel" on Lamma and think they can stay there.

There are signposts to a "youth hostel" halfway to Sok Kwu Wan. But it's not a YHA hostel and they only take group bookings. If you want to try, it's:

"The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups Lamma Youth Camp"

That web page lists the address of this secretive, semi-private "Youth Hostel" as "Hill top at Hung Shing Ye Beach".

Actually, it's at least half an hour's steep uphill walk from Hung Shing Yeh beach, much closer to Lo So Shing beach, high above the Lamma Quarry, on the way up from the middle of the Family Trail to Luk Chau Village, at the very end of the most scenic Snake Path starting from the windturbine.

Their Chin.-only website is quite extensive and detailed with lots of pages:

Any other temp accommodations I forgot to list?

I think HSY is closer, isn't it? If you walk past the BBQ area for 5 mins and take the turn left of the main path, go up past by the small reservoir and you'd be there much quicker than from LSS. Maybe need to check with the GPS

Yes, you are right, see the map below with the "Lamma Island Youth Hostel" in the center.
But it's still close to half an hour from the beach, especially with everything you need for an overnight stay, and it's almost at the same altitude as the windturbine.

I wonder about the actual walking or biking distance from the YSW and Sok Kwu Wan ferry piers. Almost the same?
I might test it one of these days very soon, as I still got to pick up my mountainbike in Mo Tat Wan.
