Well, the map shows ALL of Lamma to be submerged by 2030 (see below)

Just another typical case of shoddy reporting, incorrect infographics and fear-mongering from the SCMP.

The story actually talked about the Pearl River Delta and only mentioned that some parts of Lamma might get submerged.

It would be more like just a small part of a few sandy Lamma beaches would be flooded occasionally at maximum tide for 1-2 hours a few times/year by 2030...

30 cm does not sound much. Unless I am missing something 30 cm would not even submerge Main St. It would take a lot more than 30cm to submerge Lamma island

This is complete bollocks of course: 30 cm is not much more than 1 foot, but it's the SCMP so we can't expect too much ...
