A few days ago the shop in Tai Peng reopened, despite the owner telling me it was being rented as a home.

Apparently new management, though they didn't bother to change the name.

Anyway, at least we have a place again to buy beer and instant noodles without having to descend to the fleshpots of Yung Shue Wan.

Nancy & hubby Kam running the shop now, ever cheerful and friendly. The goods selection seems to have been significantly upgraded as well, pretty impressive for the sole shop in the middle of an old Chinese village. It's looking clean and nice, some fresh produce (!), fine spirits selection, some decent wines and even hardware/household shop goods usually not found in a food shop.

I like shopping there, put the goods in my bike basket and roll down the hill to Pak Kok. More Pak Kokians are discovering this convenience, according to Nancy.

New opening hours since Easter. Closed on Tuesdays.

Plus new shelves and even more space for a huge variety of goods in a small space.
Add your own shopping preferences by letting Nancy & Kam know, they might add it to their regular goods.

A few words from Nancy herself, the ever-cheerful and helpful shop lady in the Sino Store, formerly the Regent shop in Tai Peng:

"As we are heading into one year of business, we would like to say a BIG thank you to our customers, helping and supporting us in those starting days, and all of you to set up Tai Peng Store to be a really unique one!"

Tai Peng Village shop open 7 days / week now!

The residents of this sole local shop in Tai Peng and the passing tourists will appreciate it!

Their collection of products seems to be increasing every time I pass by on my bike (very convenient for us Pak Kokians with some wheels, simply rolling the shopping home on flat paths or downhill.)

This shop seems to be expanding its product range (even some fresh produce!) going upmarket as well, offering more unusual, customer-requested products I've never seen before in any YSW village shop. The friendly smile of Nancy running this neighbourhood shop together with her husband Kam is quite unusual and refreshing, greeting many of her regular customers by name.
