Tourist email to Lamma.com.hk:"My family is travelling to HK for Chinese New Year. Part of our itinerary is to do a day trip to Lamma Island on February 20. I would like to inquire from your perspective the following questions:
1. Will restaurants, boats and shops be open on Feb. 20 in Lamma Island?
I'm not sure if they will be closed because of New Year.2. Is Lamma Island child-friendly? Are there activities they can do? We will be bringing 4 kids with us.
3. What is the best seafood restaurant that we can dine at in Lamma Island?

"Some restaurants and shops will open all days throughout CNY. Ferries will run on full, extended holiday schedules.
Here's my quick suggestions! kids - run in hills, play on beach, climb trees, investigate the temple etc....
Best seafood - Andy's Seafood, Undiscovered cafe's - LaLa Mama's and Carlo's Tapas bar...yum!
I love the jewellery shop, Be at Lamma.
Undiscovered? I'm not sure there is anything undiscovered on Lamma by now.

Go for a hike. The best thing you can do on Lamma.
Maybe visit the small museum in Sok Kwu Wan and the caves on the way there. Seafood restaurants there too, Rainbow is popular.
Hire bicycles in the Main Street, hike toward Sok Kwu Wan but go to the small water hole near youth centre to fish, swing over via rope from trees or jump in.
The Genuine Lamma Hilton (seafood restaurant) in Sok Ku Wan is more scenic, historical and less commercial. It is on the other side if the pier, away from the restaurant crowds.
The shops will be open and some of the restaurants.
Just tell them to get on the ferry at Central Pier No. 5 and they will find everything they need."
