Hey there.
We have been seeing more and more rats running around outside our appartment in Sha Po old village. They are even deciding to hang out on top of our washing machine and use it as a toilet.

Does anyone know if there is any government dept that will do anything about this or is it a matter of laying some bait or traps.

You might get faster help from the office near the football pitch. It's a govt dept of some sort. Last time I had a hornet's nest in the garden they leapt to the challenge and sent a troop of people equipped with nets, face protection, the whole caboodle to take down the nest.

The office is in one of the buildings, pretty much in the middle of the path between the clinic and the children's playground. Don't know what time they will close today though.

It's the FEHD office. I tried to find the number, but couldn't.

I found this map instead, very useful for hikers and Lamma visitors in general. Some of these (8 in total!) are in such remote locations and hardly ever used, but cleaned and maintained daily by the FEHD's workers:
