Sorry Thais, but this is about as lame excuse for the male member as Ms Yingluck is for a PM, yet strangely, Samui has bus loads of tourists pouring in to see their miniscule rock. I think we are missing out on a big tourist draw, since you must have noticed when traveling in China the Mainlanders love to point out every rock and tell you that it resembles something, even though you are often left wondering what they must have been smoking to come up with that interpretation of nature. Whatever, they love doing it, so I think our Island District Councilors should promote our magnificent no nonsense, no ambiguity here mate, phallus to the Mainlanders as a must see attraction on Lamma, after of course their digital time/ temp clock and the new fenced in Community Center. However, besides the rather remote location, a big advantage the Thais have over us is that they also have a female rock nearby to their their dwarfish male one. Maybe someone on Lamma knows of a Lo Mo Sai rock (Ikea Wolf - read the paper and get up to date!) somewhere hidden away on the on the island. There's probably a bunch of them hiding in the DC and Land Dept offices;), but really we need something more concrete, which is their specialty, so I am sure they could knock one up if we can't locate one au naturel, although I dread to imagine what it might look like considering their architectural talents. (For those who don't out get out much, Lamma's glorious pillar of granite stands proudly about half way up the main assent of Mount Stenhouse, pointing out towards Shum Wan and Tung O).
