Where can one buy tickets to the opera? I've been looking around and haven't found any info in any language. Did I overlook something? Thanks. |

You only need a ticket if you want to be a sponsor and sit up near the front. You can just turn up and watch for free. |

Tickets are being sold in the Rural Committee Bldg. They've also had a table outside selling tickets for several days a while back. If you don't need a seat and don't mind standing, you can watch from anywhere just outside the bamboo arena. All my pictures every year are taken from the low fence all around the arena. Performances every evening and in the afternoon on Fri (Lamma Day), Sat and Sun. If you know a ticket holder, they might invite you inside for a free seat. Tickets are pretty cheap as they're mostly subsidised by Govt., HK Electric and most local businesses which are expected to donate very generously for this big event. There are special late ferries back to town every night as well. |

Banners: 20 years of the Hing Fung Ming Cantonese Opera troupe performing on Lamma, so 1 extra day has been added to their performances in the YSW Football Pitch, ending on the same day as the Lamma 500 International Dragonboat Festival.
