Hello Zep,
Great to see your message again. We haven't heard from our resident flora & fauna expert for too long!
Yes, they were
all native trees that we planted last Saturday on the highest hill above Pak Kok. Great fun, but hot & exhausting!
For your interest, I just received the detailed
list of native trees, all recommended and sponsored by the Kadoorie Farm & Botanic Garden. 30-50 of each species were planted. I'll skip the Latin names, if you don't mind, Professor Zep.
(This reminds me so much of my distant past as a biology student, before I got the computer bug and switched to Computer Science.)
Hog Plum, Thick-leaved Oak, Bamboo-leaved Oak, Pond Spice, Blood-red Melastoma, Strawberry Tree, Myrobalan, Hance's Syzygium, Melia-leaved Evodia, Common Tutcheria.
Just scanning (with the scanner I borrowed from you!) the pictures from the "HK Trees" book, for the cover story of the next e-zine.
In the meantime, have a look at my new
Tree Planting Day Photo Gallery.
